This Privacy policy is effective as of March 1, 2015. As our services evolve and we perceive the need or desirability of collecting or using information collected in other ways, we may from time to time amend this Privacy Policy and will provide a new effective date on the revised policy. We encourage you to check our site frequently to see the current Privacy Policy and User Agreement in effect and any changes that may have been made to them. If you continue to use after those changes are in effect, you agree to the revised policy.

What information do we collect

However, if you request information from us through our Contact Us page, or disclose information in any other way to us we will retain the information that you provide. To take advantage of some of our services you are required to register and create an account via our Site. When you open an individual account at Style Notes, we ask you to provide personal information (such as your name and email address). When you open a designer subscription account with you will also be required to provide information such as about your company in addition to entering into a Subscription Agreement. All Style Notes accountholders are required to create a user password that, combined with your login email address, allows access to your Style Notes account. This data is used to identify you as a Style Notes registered user. All designer accountholders are required to create a user password, that combined with your login name and contact email address, allows access to your subscription account. offers a forum for designers to subscribe editorials and details of their collections and for users to browse and discover from these editorials. We also collect information from Site visitors that does not personally identify themselves. Information that is collected in aggregate form includes browser type (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari), operating system (e.g. Windows, Macintosh), IP address and Internet domain (e.g. AOL, Hotmail).

When you sign up for or use of our products, you voluntarily give us information. If you’re using and Style Notes on your mobile device, you can also choose to provide us with location data.

We also get technical information when you use our products or use websites or apps that have and Style Notes features.

These days, whenever you use a website, mobile application, or other Internet service, there’s certain information that almost always gets created and recorded automatically. The same is true when you use our products. Here are some of the types of information we collect:

LOG DATA: When you use and Style Notes our servers automatically record information (log data) including information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website or your mobile app sends when you’re using it. This log data may include your Internet Protocol address, the address of the web pages you visited that had features, browser type and settings, the date and time of your request and cookie data.

COOKIE DATA: Depending on how you’re accessing our products, we may use cookies (a small text file sent by your computer each time you visit our website, unique to your and Style Notes account or your browser), or similar technologies to record log data. When we use cookies, we may use session cookies (that last until you close your browser) or persistent cookies (that last until you or your browser delete them). For example, we may use cookies to store your language preferences or other settings so you don‘t have to set them up every time you visit. Some of the cookies we use are associated with your Style Notes account (including personal information about you, such as the email address you gave us), and other cookies are not.

Session cookies: These temporary cookies expire and are automatically erased whenever you close your browser window. We use session cookies to grant our users access to content and to enable actions they must be logged in to do.

Persistent cookies: These usually have an expiration date in the distant future and remain in your browser until they expire or you manually delete them. We use persistent cookies to better understand usage patterns so we can improve the site for our users. Send you updates, newsletters, marketing materials and other information that may be of interest to you. For example, depending on your email notification settings, we may send you weekly updates that include styles and designers you may like. You can decide to stop getting these updates by updating your account settings (or through other settings we may provide).

Respond to your questions or comments.

We use your personal information according to the terms of the Privacy Policy and User Agreement in effect at the time of our use.

The information we collect may be personally identifiable (meaning it can be used to specifically identify you as a unique person) or non-personally identifiable (meaning it can’t be used to specifically identify you). We use both types of information, and combinations of both types, as described above. We may use or store information wherever does business, including countries outside your own.

We may use your personal information for our general commercial purposes including, among other things, to send you communications about (1) our own products and services, (2) products and services offered by designers or advertisers on our site and (3) products and services of third parties (those not offered by designers on our site) to you that we think you may find of interest. We use email as the primary form of communicating transactional and relationship information with registered designers and registered Style Notes users. If you are a registered designer, we may also use your street addresses and telephone numbers to provide these communications.

We also use your information to verify that you qualify as a member of, to customize the content you see on, to help manage your transactions on the site and to contact you as necessary. We may use your contact information to respond to your inquiries.

What choices do you have about your information and Style Notes is a tool people use to find their inspirations, navigate their way through the designer editorials listed simply and effectively, organise their shopping online, and share and inspire others in the process. When you create style notes you can choose to share them by posting them to your social media account, email or post on your own personal blog. 

The other limited instances where we may share your personal information include:

We may employ third party companies or individuals to process personal information on our behalf based on our instructions and in compliance with this Privacy Policy. For example, we may share data with a security consultant to help us get better at identifying spam or with our accountants to make sure we’re keeping the books right. In addition, some of the information we request may be collected by third party providers on our behalf. 

If we believe that disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation or legal request; to protect the safety, rights, or property of the public, any person, or; or to detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues.

We may also share aggregated or non-personally identifiable information with our partners or others. For example, we may tell a business using how many people added them as a favourite designer or shared or added their editorial images. does not sell, share, trade or give away personal data other than as described in this Privacy Policy.

We reveal your information to unaffiliated third parties when you request or authorize it, or to help complete a functionality for you which you have requested. Designers will have their own privacy practices regarding the information they receive. We encourage you to read such applicable privacy policies. We are not responsible for the processing of your information by such third parties.

We may share your data with other companies or agents affiliated to who have been carefully selected and who perform functions on our behalf (e.g., analyzing data, providing marketing assistance, providing customer service, processing orders, etc.). These companies may use your information for their own purposes including marketing to you where you have consented to receive notifications relating to their products and services. We may also disclose your data to comply with the law, applicable regulations, governmental and quasi-governmental requests, court orders or subpoenas, to enforce our User Agreement or other agreements, or to protect our rights, property or safety or the rights, property or safety of our users or others.

In the event of a corporate transaction, such as the purchase, sale or other transfer of all or part of our services or assets, we may transfer your data along with those assets or services to a prospective transferee.


International transfers

The personally identifiable information we receive may be held on our computers and systems in the European Union and in the computers and systems of our offices and internationally and may be accessed by or given to our staff working outside the European Union. Your information may be processed by us in the United Kingdom, where laws regarding data protection may be less stringent than the laws in your country. By using this Site and by providing any personal information to the Site, all users, including without limitation users in Canada and the European Union, fully understand and unambiguously consent to the collection and processing of such information in the United Kingdom.

In addition, designers registered on are located around the world. Due to the nature of our business and to enable us to offer a forum worldwide, your data may be transferred to, and held by designers in any country in the world. By using this Site and by providing any personal information to the Site, all users, including without limitation users in Canada and the European Union, fully understand and unambiguously consent to the collection and processing of such information by such third parties. is not designed nor intended to be attractive to use by children under the age of 13. Our Terms of Use require that users must be 18 years old or older in order to register on our Site and use our services. If you are under the age of 18 please do not submit any information to us.

As a registered user of the Site you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your user name and password. Please keep your user ID and password confidential. If you share your computer, we recommend that you log-out and close your browser window after visiting the Site in order to protect the confidentiality of your data including your credit card information, and any other data you have input on your account. The Site uses third party payment via Paypal only. We do not process or store any details in relation to payment which is processed via the third party. Except as specified in this Privacy Policy, we use commercially reasonable efforts to limit access to your information to the employees, officers, third-party contractors, and strategic partners of who need the information in order to perform their duties. SSL is an industry-standard protocol for encryption over the Internet. While no system is 100% secure, we believe that the measures we have implemented minimize the risk of security breach to an appropriate level given the types of information involved. Please note that any information you provide us by email is unencrypted.

Please note that transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure and although we will endeavor to protect your information, we cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted to our Site; any transmission is therefore at your own risk.
